“Have we come to the place where God can withdraw His blessings and it does not affect our trust in Him?”
This quote from Oswald Chambers hit home this morning. I am walking through a season of seeing God provide for me in incredible ways, but I am aware of the prayers He has not answered yet. To be honest, it can be a challenge to not give up on praying for these things on some days. To not give up asking again and again.
As my pastor reminded last Sunday, every relationship is based on love and trust. Answering the question from Oswald Chambers, answers to whether there is love and trust in us with our relationship with God. If we walk through a difficult season, do we still turn to God in everything?
We may love God no matter what comes our way. But we must also trust God, no matter what comes our way. Trust that He is good and sovereign, in every circumstance. Trust that He hears our prayers and will answer them when the time is right. Trust that all the heartache and pain, all the grief and sorrow — it works in us to make us more like Christ.
